FAQ

The Build

Typically 3–7 business days for the initial build, then you get 30 days to review and send feedback before final handoff.

Even better. We'll build you one from scratch based on your practice info. Fill out the intake form and we'll handle the rest. Same price, same timeline.

To run the site: no. Your website is static HTML on Cloudflare — it just works, no maintenance required. To make content changes yourself: yes, a little. Updating text or adding a page means editing code files and pushing to GitHub. It's doable for many people, and we provide clear instructions at handoff so you can do it yourself if you want. If you'd rather not touch it, any developer can make changes for a small one-time fee. The tradeoff is worth it — Squarespace charges $23/month whether you touch your site or not. Most dental websites go months without a single change. With Groundwork you pay nothing until you actually need something.

Right now, yes. We're focused entirely on dental practices because specialization means better results. Every template, every schema type, every content structure is built specifically for how dental patients search and what Google expects from dental websites.

Pricing & Cost

No catch. That's just the minimum cost to have a properly built website. Domain renewal is ~$12/year paid to your registrar — not to us. Hosting on Cloudflare Pages is free. There is no monthly fee. If you want us to manage things for you, that's $100/month — but it's priced that way intentionally so you're motivated to just host it yourself and save the money.

Modern development tools — including AI-assisted workflows — have made it possible for a skilled engineer to build high-quality, unique websites dramatically faster than a traditional agency team. The $15k firm is using the same tools. They just have more people, more overhead, and more reasons to keep you paying. $2,000 is the minimum cost to have a properly built website. The difference is we pass the efficiency gains to you instead of pocketing them.

That's your domain renewal (like yourpractice.com), paid directly to your domain registrar — not to us. Hosting on Cloudflare Pages is free. No monthly fees, no platform subscriptions.

The website build is a one-time payment. Managed hosting is month-to-month — cancel anytime. No contracts. No cancellation fees. No "90-day notice period." If you want to stop, just stop.

We build a preview before you commit. You see the finished work, click around, check it on your phone. If you like it, you pay. If you don't, you owe nothing. That's the deal.

Honestly, no — and we price it high on purpose. Your hosting on Cloudflare Pages is free after the build. There are no plugins to update, no database to manage, no security patches. The site runs itself. Your only recurring cost is ~$12/year for domain renewal. You're capable of owning your own accounts. Managed hosting exists for practices that genuinely want zero technical involvement, but for most dentists, it's money you don't need to spend.

Yes. After the build, your only cost is ~$12/year for the domain renewal (paid to your registrar). The site runs on Cloudflare Pages (free), the code lives on GitHub (free), and you own everything.

Paid advertising, complex software integrations, patient portal development, and ongoing marketing strategy. We build the website and Google Business Profile foundation — but not a full marketing department. No ongoing content creation unless you ask for it separately.

After the Build

Everything. Your domain, your content, your hosting account, your code repository, and your Google accounts (Analytics, Search Console, Business Profile). If you never hear from us again, everything keeps working.

Nothing changes. That's the whole point. Our explicit goal is that you never have to reach back out. No follow-ups, no check-ins, no renewal notices. Your website keeps running on its own.

Most practices don't need many changes after the initial build. But when you do, just pay $100 for a single month on the retainer. You get the full month to request whatever fixes you need — then it's done. No ongoing commitment.

There's a saying: "Nice shoes won't get you the girl, but bad shoes will lose her." Same thing here. A great website alone won't flood your practice with new patients — but a bad one (or no website at all) is actively turning people away. Our focus is the baseline foundation. You'll be set up well for SEO and AI search. But real growth requires regular content creation. Let's crawl before we walk.

Those platforms are full-service practice management systems — patient scheduling, EHR, billing, the works. That's a different product solving a different problem. Groundwork isn't a practice management tool. It's just a website. A really good one that you own outright. Pay once, get your site, done.

About Groundwork

Modern AI tools compress what used to take separate designers, developers, and copywriters into a focused build. The savings go to you. No account managers. No layers between you and the work — you talk to whoever is actually building your site, not a sales rep relaying messages.

Dentists are some of the most skilled professionals we know — and some of the most underserved when it comes to their online presence. The dental marketing industry has been overcharging for underwhelming work for years. Modern tools make it possible to deliver dramatically better results at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, and no. The page you're reading right now was built with the help of AI — doesn't it look good? Every agency in 2026 is using AI. Most just won't admit it because they're still charging 2019 prices. We're upfront about it because it's why the service costs $2,000 instead of $15,000. The AI does the heavy lifting; we do the quality control, customization, and engineering that AI can't handle on its own yet.

Your website keeps working. It's hosted on Cloudflare (which isn't going anywhere), the code is on GitHub, and any developer in the world can pick it up. That's the whole ownership model — you're never locked into a single vendor.
